General information
Here is some general information and frequently asked questions about the tattoo process.
-
1. Make sure to get a good night’s sleep and eat a solid meal before coming in.
2. Stay hydrated and avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment.
3. Wear comfortable, loose clothing that allows easy access to the area we’re tattooing.
4. Bring a snack or water if needed, and feel free to bring something to keep you entertained (like headphones or a book) for longer sessions.
-
1. Bandage: Keep the bandage on for a couple of hours (1-3hrs), then gently remove it and wash the area with mild soap and lukewarm water.
2. Moisturize: Pat dry with a clean towel and apply a thin layer of unscented tattoo lotion. I recommend the normal blue Lubriderm. Repeat this 2-3 times a day for the next 2 weeks.
3. Clothing: Wear loose, breathable clothing to prevent friction on the tattooed area.
4. Avoid: No direct sunlight, swimming, or soaking in water (baths, pools) for at least 2-3 weeks. Stick to showers!
5. Peeling: The tattoo will likely peel—this is normal. Avoid scratching or picking at the skin to prevent scarring.
6. Long-Term Care: Once healed, keep the tattoo moisturized and always use sunscreen when exposed to sunlight to preserve its color.
